Situational Writing
Dear 1H-ians,
I heard that you are doing well in class. Hopefully you understand all that is taught. It meant that my instructions were clear to the teacher and she taught you well.
Any problems with understanding what is taught please post on Cbox and I will address it on blog.
* Remember the tone, audience and purpose that I taught you before in class. It comes in handy in answering situational writing qn.
Always highlight the key phrases, words & are on what the qn is trying to ask.
Eg. For your EL Hmwork Write a letter to your friend, telling him about the sandwich making competition. Tell him the reason for the competition, where and when it took place. Describe the proceeding s of the competion, how it ended and your feelings about it.
Key things : 1) Letter Format 2) Audience : A friend 3) What to write : Reason, Venue & Time, What happened on the day, Feelings
From this you can gather you are telling your friend about something that happened in the past.. so your tone of the letter should be informal and casual and the body of the writing is like a personal recount.
Remember to use more adjectives and adverbs (words and phrases)to make your letter more lively, similar to a personal recount.
