My views :)
We have regularly heard about students tarnishing the school’s image by their actions outside the school, often spotted in their uniforms.
This is an act of irresponsibility as it may spoil the good image of the school of a person, for example, a parent. I’m sure the parent would not want to enroll his/her child into a “chaotic” school!
Students have also gotten into trouble for showing the wrong attitudes to teachers, and even worse, verbally abused the teacher.
They even swear and curse so often like vulgarities are cool, fun and ‘in’. Is respecting people and watching what you say very difficult to do so? Well, I don’t think so!
I think that the main point that students are doing all these things because they think that what they are doing is so-called “following the trend”. As the saying goes, monkey see monkey do. They see that what they are doing is cool and ‘in’.
Well, I do agree that teenagers nowadays are more self-centred and self-conscious. They tend to put themselves first before others and that results in the lack of care in our society. Being selfish, teenagers would always want the best to themselves. Normally, they do not care about what others might say of their actions. However, this does not show the lack of values in teenagers. They may want the best to themselves, and that shows that they know what they actually want to achieve. This is an important “survival skill” in the society in the years to come. It is like a game-if you are not good at it, you may be kicked out from it anytime.
I think that the society in the later years would differ greatly from the society now. Teenagers have often had this thought- “Less work more payback”. I think I know what is the teenagers’ ambitions- a job that offers a high salary and requires you to do the minimum amount of work as possible. Well, who doesn’t wish for that kind of job? This shows that they are lazy and are not willing to work more harder for their future. If they don’t get their desired jobs in the future, I assume, that they won’t take their jobs easily. I guess that even though they are offered their desired jobs, they would just “anyhow” finish their work and simply wait for their pay at the end of the month, which they think they had worked hard enough to deserve it.
If this really happens, the government will have difficulty controlling the citizens as they are too lazy to work for them and had just “anyhow” finish it. The society, all kinds of jobs, works hand in hand to keep the country prospering. For example, if you visit a doctor for a fever, instead, he prescribes the medicine for stomachaches. Would you want to pay for the medicine and waste your money? I sure that my answer would be a definite “no”!
Another major factor that has to be taken into consideration for the students’ actions is the parents. Although I can understand that they are busy working hard to earn more money so as to give the gamily a more comfortable life, they also have to spend more time with their children to maintain their kinship. I have seen teenagers taking their homes as only a shelter, or even, maybe a hotel! They just seek for a bed and other necessities and that’s enough. They don’t really think that kinship is important. However, think of the time, effort and money that our parents have to spend on to bring us up. Without them, we have to rely on ourselves and fend for ourselves. They sure have taken good care of us, and I think that we should not be so ungrateful. We should be filial to them by not making them worry about us, and show that we can take good care of ourselves. Likewise, those teenagers should also stop their silly behaviours that make their parents worry so much about them.
