We regularly hear about students that damage the school’s image by their actions outside school, such as vandalism. There are many factors contributing to their behavior. Some of the factors are that: 1. They lack of parent supervision. It occurs when both parents are working and leaves their child into the maid’s care. The maid may not install the right educational values in them. 2. They are influenced by friends. One may be influenced by friends easily. 3. They want to draw attention from their friends. 4. MOE focuses more on academic success rather than Civic and Moral Education in schools. These may lead to their inappropriate actions. They are not concerned about the people around them too. I also think that the teenager’s attitude nowadays are more self-centered and self-conscious which reflects their lack of values. I think that we should have the basic values, such as showing respect to others, being considerate, having responsibility, etc.
