Many people may think that teens nowadays lack values. But it is not that teens do not have values, it is that they have been influenced and neglected, and thus forgotten about the right values. I believe that everyone sure have values, it is just that some of them have not been taught the correct values properly. Family problems/parental problems may cause a child to be neglected. He/She may be easily influenced by others. Some teenagers succumb to peer pressure, which causes them to do bad things (such as vandalism etc.) and makes them think that what they have done were considered 'cool' and 'in'. Of course, peer pressure mostly occurs when you get into the wrong group of 'friends' or fair-weathered friends. Fair-weathered friends are those who leave you alone when you're in trouble. Teenagers are very self-centered nowadays. There is a lack of communication between parent and child. Well, not all teenagers act in this way... Counsellors are a great help, but that's not enough. The most important thing lies within parents, for parents set a good example for their children. Parents shouldn't just work, work & work. They should spend more time with their kids. They should give good advice to their children as much as possible. They should pay more attention to the teens. I guess this should be able to solve the problem a little... Well, teens should also try to be more self-conscious and show the right attitudes both physically and mentally. They should also spare a thought for their ever-working, ever-busy parents.
