I feel that the teens were challenged or dared by their peers to vandalise school property or they would be shunned and called a coward. The teens didn't want to be called a coward and so he/she succumbed to peer pressure. I think that these teens weren't brought up with the right values soon enough and they don't really know how to differentiate right from wrong. Their excuse for vandalising school property might be : "He asked me to do it so I do lor." or " I accidentally did it."
About verbal abusing school teachers, many students have done it and still are continuing to do it, with less and less respect for teachers and the "higher-ranked". These students have obviously been using vulgar language in their casual talk, on the net, using it practically everytime in their communication. They find no wrong in it, nor find it vulgar. In fact, it has been a daily routine for them. I feel that they are very rude, and deserve to be disciplined to be better-groomed. These type of students definitely cannot survive in the real world as the world would treat them as ill-mannered people and they would not get a job until they change their ways.
There are students who would say "I heck care what the others say. They are always wrong." It is at this point which I think is considered "out of control". The students have no self-control and simply throw tantrums whenever they like. They have no feelings for other people, and always believe that they are right. Students like these should be sent for severe and strict discipline centres (not that I know of any).
Teens' actions nowadays are more rebellious and more often on the defensive side whenever they believe that the other party (mostly parents) is accusing them of something. In this defensive state, they may blurt out hard and regrettable remarks which normally hurt others more than when they purposely mean for the other party to be hurt. This shows a lack of values, which have to be reinforced and reminded from young, or else the children will grow into teens which have totally no values. This will be reflected on them as they go out into the real world. So parents please start disciplining your children no matter how much they complain!
