Monday, June 30, 2008 { 8:52 PM } ; The passion =)

yo pepo!
Made another post
cause don't wanna make a post sooo long.
Anyway, I'm in a uber happy mood. =)
More ever, some people wanna read different things mah.
=D

Today.
=D
Hmms.

Okay lah.
Many things happened in the weekend.
Made me lost many hope.
But made me focus more on studies.
I was very proud that I was actually listening
to what MrAng and MrThong was say in class tuhday.
=D
History went by in a whiz.
I couldn't remember what we did.
XD
I only remember we had homework.
XD

Art.
Hmms.
Did a horrible painting.
XD
My paint all went out of line.
XP
XD.

Stay in class and didn't eat lunch.
Didn't bring MrAng's homework and had to do a copy of it
and pass up the original 2molo.
X\
Sry MrAng.
=)
I really forgot.
I have STM.
^.^'''

So stayed in class luh.
Haix.
Then HMT.
Then VB
JL was mad that we came late.
=C

ChuaChua always end the lesson late lei.
He thinks that HMT more imp that CCA.
So I don't think he will let us go early.
That time we had to come to sch for the moon festival thingy
then told him had VB then he said VB if you didn't go nvm
got sub to play for you
but CO cannot.
So in the end I had to take the place of some CO-ians.
=C
Sadds.
I dunno why lah.

Another time on a wed he had HMT lesson.
1.30 to 2.30.
Then VB at 2.30
Then I asked him
whether he could let us go 5 min earlier
for us to take lunch
he also say HMT is a proper lesson.
You should ask your CCA teacher to let you come late.

The problem is, if we go VB late can,
but must go home late.
No matter what time you go must train 3 hours.
Then the time starts only when everyone is here.
So it not only matters to myself right?

Haix.
Never mind.
BackBack.
Then we had VB luh.
Ran 2.4km,
cause my senior(anna mama),
had to re-take her 2.4km as she sprained her leg that time.
So JL just take the time for her luh.
=D

I was pretty happy with my timing.
I ran just behind my mama.
Had the timing of 13.27 mins.
=D
=D
=D
Well, that's an A!!
=)

Then had training.
I was pretty restless tuhday.
HaHa.
after pao qiu
then rest.
I was still playing the VB.
Lol.
My passing improved luh.
I could sense it
=D
Was happy lah.
But my spiking was HollyCrapo.
...
Had all the timing wrong.
Of course JL scold lah.
LAst wed during VB my spiking was so much better
than today's crap luh.
JiaYou ba.
XD

Okay.
I'm done.
Byee.
=)
The want to win, the want to play, the volleyball passion. =)

{ 8:29 PM } ; The want to win, the want to play. =)

Yo pepo!
Long since I post luh!
=D

Since I'm here, free...
Well...
=D
In a good mood today and lets start from the very very beginning.

Many pepo has been talking about the start of school and everything.
Okay, lets talk about MY story then...
=D

The very first day was super super uber uber tiring.
=C
Cause I have volleyball(as usual) and HMT.
That's tiring.
From the morning 7.30am in school and till 6.30+ then go home. =C

Don't mind me saying this, but sometimes I think
ChuaChua's lesson are not relevant to what's his teaching.
I know sometimes it's good to talk about something outside textbook
cause sometimes its just very boring
but too much of his jokes and all..
Well, makes the lesson boring too.
I mean, sometimes the joke he cracks are pretty...
-.-lll
ya know...
And the things he talk about outside textbook...
Makes me wanna sleep sometimes.
>.<'''
Well, especially on Mondays luh...

The first day of school was more special cuz during the holidays,
most of the times I sleep late and all...
and made that monday very very difficult to wake up.
^.^'''
I only slept at 3am that day!
>.<'''
3 hours of sleep and then HMT and VB.
OKAY!
I admit!
I slept in class for few mins...
XD
Well, not exactly few minutes lah.
Just close my eyes for few seconds for many times of the day
And maybe those added up to few minutes.
>.<

Volleyball was even tiring.
Cause JiaoLian luh...
He changed our training style.
Usually it was in a day train many different things
for eg: fitness, running, and playing the ball.
A few of each lah.
Now, Monday more of body building.
Running and fitness.(fitness is everyday =.=)
So more tiring.
When we played the vb,
I was so tired that
the ball smacked my face so many times..
T.T

So that wraps up my first day of school. =D.
Then the rest of the week was better.
=D
Wed. VB was cool, the boys and girls played tgt.
=D
Each team(B and G) divided into 2 groups.
Boys played handicap, 4 players only.
I had 6 members in my group
while the other girl group had the seniors.
=D.
We had to play against each other
and the team that scores 3 points first,
becomes the main team.
The main team plays until another team beats them.
=D
Fun hor?
=) Of course Luh!
four groups in total
Then score tallied,
1-8-1-9.
8 was our group,
nine was one of the boys' group.
Awww...
JiaoLian said if this number opened in 4D
he treat us bubble tea each.
XD
Haha.

Shall stop here.
Make another post.
=D
I know getting boring mah.
XD
Bye~

{ 10:35 PM } ; News Article about Teens

Teens clueless about Chinese New Year customs
Straits Times 03/02/2008

Many know what the traditions are but not how they came about, a Sunday Times poll discovers

RECEIVING red packets is something all children look forward to during Chinese New Year, but try asking teenagers why the sum of money inside comes in even numbers and the question will draw a blank from most of them.

That question stumped the most respondents in The Sunday Times' straw poll on Chinese New Year traditions.

Only 17 out of 100 respondents aged between 13 and 19 gave the right answer – that it was because of a Chinese saying, "good things come in pairs".

Some teenagers mistakenly thought that the tradition was meant to help singles find partners, while others thought that it was simply easier to give out bank notes that way.

"There are more notes in even numbers than in odd numbers," said Beh Hsiung Wei, 14, a student at Naval Base Secondary School.

The respondents were asked 10 questions, including the reason for wearing red, why oranges are exchanged, and why sweeping the house on the first day of Chinese New Year is not allowed.

Many teens were aware of the practices but did not know the reasons for them. They could name the animals in the zodiac but could not answer further questions.

Most teenagers knew that wearing red during the festival that celebrates the coming of spring is auspicious and that red is considered a lucky colour.

But what 69 of them didn't know was that the tradition originated from a legend about wearing red to scare away the New Year monster, Nian.

Some teens pay little heed to the traditions. Grace Soon, 15, has worn "every colour, even black" during Chinese New Year.

"My mum is not superstitious," said the St Nicholas Girls' School student, whose mother also makes her go to bed before midnight on the eve of Chinese New Year.

Children who stay up late that night are believed to be blessing their parents with longevity – something which only half of the respondents were aware of.

Instead, 14 per cent said they stayed up that night for the New Year countdown on television.

Caroline Wong, 18, thought that the Chinese word for blessings, fu, is placed upside down because "the old folks cannot see well and thought that putting it that way was cooler".

The gesture is meant to signify the arrival of blessings for homes. That question proved too tough for respondents, with about two-thirds of them getting it wrong.

Those who did relatively well in the street poll said they learnt about the traditions from their elders and in school.Phoebe Ten, 16, said she learnt about the traditions from Powerpoint slides shown during Chinese New Year celebrations at Chong Boon Secondary School.

A number of the teens were surprised by their poor showing. One of them was Sherri Chong."I thought I knew the answers," she said.

The 16-year-old intends to bone up on her knowledge about Chinese New Year traditions."Now, I'll make more of an effort to learn by asking my parents," she said.

{ 9:50 PM } ; 3 days into the new semester

Dear 1-Hians

3 days into the new semester.. how are you liking it so far? With new subjects to tackle and grades to improve, 1 Hians have to work a little harder.

On top of that, with all your CCAs practice, life will be really hectic for all of you. Do persevere and aim for the best. Encourage each other along the way. It helps.. as sometimes when one is feeling down, there is bound to be someone is class feeling happy. Do help each other.

1H-ians have made a commitment that we will all work hard together, including me to help you achieve the grades that all of you are capable of. Of course... it always take 2 hands to clap.. you put in the effort with my help, soon you should see better results.

Some of you still have to change your bad habits like forgetting to bring your homework to hand in or forgetting to do them ... get your friends to remind you...

It is all about your attitude... a good attitude will make lives better... always think about how to make your grades better if the attitude changes... it makes a great difference..

That's all for now!!! Don't hestitate to ask me any questions if you have doubts.

Tuesday, June 24, 2008 { 8:31 PM } ;

Hi everyone...=)

It has been quite a short day in school( for those who have no ccas today)...=) 9am to 1.30pm~And I think that Tuesday is the day that I love the most as there are fewer subject today for me except for the fact that I have to stay back for my cca..

I think that about 6 to 7 groups did their presentations today. I can see that they really spend A LOT of effort in it!!! They included history, reasons, cost price...almost everything that they could present...Good!!!=) Their products are also good...I can feel that we have very tough 'competitors'...haha~=) Just joking...=) Opinions...erm...I think that our own presentation was ok but I spoke too fast and was laughing away as I really can't face such a big crowd and the classroom was like very silent..I could only hear myself speaking!! Adeline and Valerie spoke well too~=) I think that we really emphasized a lot on the fact of our presentation being SHORT and SWEET as our presentation is really short...haha~

After having lunch with Valerie Toh, I went for my cca. Of course, we have a short break in between.. we went to the linkway and saw many cadets from different ccas standing on the parade square....st john, ncc, npcc, scouts and girl guides...some of them are from CCHM...Chung Cheng High School(Main)..

They looked solemn+serious and they really cannot even move an inch unless there is a command given or during breaks...poor things....The 'announcer', which is actually a teacher even mentioned that they have to stay in their posture for half an hour..under the hot sun during the school anniversary..They are very organised and neat...good work=)...I am sure that the guests will be impressed by that...haha~

Okay..I have to work on my journal now. Byebye~=)

I'm typing this post so that I can get a good nite sleep. Reason being Mr Raynold Ng pestering me to update the results of the VR-10 challenge 2008. Raynold mentioned that our team will get kicked out in the qualiying rounds but I think that only he will get kicked out. We got in the 7th placing and would have gotten 5th if his score was higher. Well, 2mrw is the quarter finals, so I hope he buck up.
So Raynold Ng, I have done wat u told me too do, so let me have a good nite sleep!

Thursday, June 19, 2008 { 9:49 PM } ; IPW and 1st day of school

Dear 1-Hians,

First.. would like to update you that the timetable will be changed on the first day of school. So there is no need to bring all the books. Maybe Maths, Science and Chinese. New timetable will be given out on Monday.

Second, with regards to your IPW, models of your item and packaging is expected during presentation. A lively and interesting, creative as well as audible presentation is expected too. Some of your presentations will be filmed.

Please note that presentation is on the first week of school. So please be prepared. I would not have EL lessons with you on Monday.. so that gives each group one more day.

Please also bring your report books all signed on Monday for collection.

Guys.. please ensure all hair is cut if it is long by Monday. Girls... ensure your skirts are of acceptable length.
Everything should be in line with school rules when school reopens. I'm sure 1-Hians do not have a short memory and will not let me down.

It had been a long time since I post here. So people, how are your holiday? Is it fun? My holiday schedules are packed with lots of NP activities. Although it is quite tiring, but I love NP. Hahas... ...

After all these activities, I am beginnig to be a little bit crazy, hope you all don't mind ;D

Well, time do flies! Don't you agree? It is as if it happened yesterday when I enter CCHY with no one I know except Jasmine and Zi Yue! Now, I belive I had made so many friends that I couldn't count finish!

After 3 more days, school is going to reopen! Hope you guys have finished all your homework. So happy that there will be no more D'n'T! Hahas... ...

By the way, I have been wondering, who had went for the class gathering? It seemed as if no one had attended it at all. If anyone had attended the class gathering, and had taken some photos there, would you mind posting them on the class blog? Too bad for me, as I had to go for Lion Dance then meet with Zoe, Ferlyn and Yun Qian to do the IPW on that day. Hahas... ...

Tomorrow I still got NP activity, going to prepare the things for tomorrow, bye!

My dear Kai Cheng... after 1 month of holiday, it seems that your English has deteriorated.. I have a difficult time reading your post... Sigh... look what all that little interaction with your friends have done to you... Sigh... Better buck up.

On the first day of school, just follow your old time table.. if any changes and I think there will be.. a new time table will be given out soon

{ 10:18 PM } ; Greetings from Japan

こにちわ(Konnichiwa) Greetings from Japan

Hi guys... I spending the last 2 days in Japan and it has been great so far.. Though it is summer over here... it is not warm.. around 18 degrees..

I hope that the class gathering has turned out well.... never mind the number of people attended.. as long as you guys enjoyed the company and had fun together is what matter the most. Do upload some photos.. to share

Things are really expensive here in Japan... a bowl of ramen easily cost $13/- ... I am really feeling broke at the moment... As food is really expensive... I spent most of my money on food here rather on shopping...Sigh!!! I am beginning to miss Singapore and appreciate some things we have. Though I have to admit that Japanese have the best manners and patience in the world!! Kudos to that!.. We, Singaporeans have much to learn from them.

See 1H-ians around soon.... Continue posting!!!

Hiies (:
Wondering why ii wasn't online, and wasn't blogging for a few days ?
ii just came back from my holiday in Malaysia.
Sort of enjoyed myself there.
Wells.
For the class tee,
ii think the one with the bricks looks nicer (:
ii guess guys won't like the one with lollipops.
But, any design is fine with me (:
And ii think putting 2H 2009 sounds great to me (:
Then we won't have to go through the trouble of getting another tee next year (:
Hmms.
ii think if the price of the class tee is $15-$18 is quite reasonable.
Hopefully the price of the class tee would be in the range (:
To save pocket money ? =P
Hahas (:
Oh yes.
Seems like my blog's tagboard is dying when ii'm out of town.
Do me a favour (:
Tagg me pretty please ?
Thanks loads.
It's okay if you visit my blog but didn't tag though.
Shall end this post here,
Byebyes (:

Wednesday, June 4, 2008 { 10:06 PM } ; Class Tees ... & Class Outing

Dear 1H-ians

I'm typing this message while waiting for the plane at the Changi T3 Airport. hahaha
Well.. Mrs Tan is going for her well deserved break... before coming back to see you guys..

I'm really glad that everything is on the way.. more of you are giving feedback on the class tees and the class outing. Great!!!.

I understand the class outing is on the 14th of June... I would really like to apologise for not able to turn up as I will not be back until the 16th of June.. However, I hope that most of you will attend and enjoy yourselves interacting with your classmates. I promise that the next class outing I will definitely turn up.. but someone got to confirm faster next time...

And yes... I am really happy that the class tee is on the way.. I'm ok with whatever design 1H decides upon... Remember is your class tee... Just a suggestion.. you may want to put 2H 2009 too.. on it.. cos you are likely to return to the same class. kill 2 birds with one stone. I would prefer that the T shirts would not go above $20..If you still have problem with the pricing... I can help to get someone whom I teach who is in this printing business. but you guys have to wait til I return.. He should be able to print the Tees in 2 weeks after I pass the design to him.

Anyway.. do enjoy your class outing and holidays.. I may check on the blog regularly if I can find some free internet access in Japan.. so do update.

{ 1:08 PM } ; Rough design

Erh.. here's a rough sketching of de design.
de first two pics is de first design.

Front:The front will be replaced wif Queenie's drawing.
Back:The back is a big lollipop, and in
de circles there wil be de whole class' names.

Front: will still be Queenie's drawing.
Back: Is a brick wall with a 1H shape.
In each brick is each person's name.
[de "we make a wall" in de pic is supposed to be cancelled.]

For both designs, de sleeve will have our indivdual's name.

This is just a rough sketching but we will update when we got Queenie's drawing. Thx! =]

Monday, June 2, 2008 { 8:31 PM } ; Class tee

well i guess LYQ already mentioned most of it .
the prices will be around $20 , either plus a few dollars , or minus a few dollars .
What color combination would you like ?
black and white
black and orange
pollcode.com free polls
& well ,
some of them require a 50% deposit while others require 80% .

im guessing that the time needed isn't really much of a problem right ?
basically ,
if we used val's design , i'm speculating it would be at least $30 .

that's all , i guess .
we're going down to the suppliers again when we have the design ,
to see how much it will cost us ._.

{ 8:20 PM } ; Visited de suppliers

Hi, Went visit the suppliers to day wif WY and Neilson. The price tat we managed to find out, the average is about $20 dollars like tat but i think we would exceed abit. This price is onli when we have a hand-drawn boy and girl wearing cchy uniform at de front, back is the whole class's names , each name in a brick which makes a secure wall when all put together. Creative huh? LOL. The material for the shirt is Dri Fit. MAybe u guys should post/tag on wad u think or comments abt the shirt. THx =]
Didn't use Val's design because it will be very expensive. Sry!!!
